The Dalhousie Mountain Snowmobile Club was formed on November 15th 2001, with Preston Hardy as the first president.
Three weeks later a 2001 Lamtrac Groomer was purchased. The major portion of the funding for the groomer was by member donations, local business support and members buying debentures from the club. the remainder of the financing was done by the local Credit Union.
The club was voted Snowmobile Club of the Year 2 years in a row by The Snowmobile Association of Nova Scotia for both the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons.
We have had club members take part in the Polaris WOW Rally for Breast Cancer Research 3 of the last 4 years. Sherri Cock in 2003, Karen Cock in 2004 and Barbara Curry for 2006.
The club currently has 81
family memberships. We are currently
in control of over 265km of trails from Pictou to Tatamagouche to Kemptown
and Landsdown and are constantly striving to improve and grow our trail
system.
